The federal government has issued early retirement package information to some 68,000 public servants.
Letters outlining incentive packages are being received by eligible public service employees, and no action is required at this time.
Prime Minister Mark Carney’s first budget outlined his government’s intention to cut the public service by about 40,000 positions.
The federal public service had reached a peak of about 368,000 employees in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
