Last weekend was cold, this weekend will be even more frigid in much of the province.
Winds will be west or northwest for most areas, which means the cold air will be blowing right off the land.
Environment Canada meteorologist Veronica Sullivan says winds won’t be quite so high as last weekend, but cool temperatures combined with the wind chill will make it feel colder.
Much of the island will be getting down to minus 25 to minus 30 in terms of wind chill, and there won’t be much of a reprieve daytime even with the sun shining,” says Sullivan.
There’s also an orange cold warning out for Labrador West, including Churchill Falls, from Saturday-Tuesday with wind chills between minus 40 and minus 50.
