RNC on the province’s west coast have arrested and charged a man for speeding past police officers conducting highway enforcement.
The RNC says officers attempted to pull the man’s vehicle over on the Trans Canada near Steady Brook around 2:30 yesterday morning after he was clocked at speeds of up to 185 km/h.
Police terminated their pursuit for safety reasons.
They later located the suspect vehicle on Dogwood Drive in Steady Brook and the 22-year-old driver was charged with flight from police and dangerous driving.
The man’s vehicle was also seized, his license was suspended and he was handed a ticket for speeding.
He was released to appear in court at a later date.
