St. John’s has not made any decisions on what to do with a large sign welcoming people to the capital.
The city had planned to erect the $85,000 structure in Bannerman Park prior to the Canada Summer Games, however the city halted those plans following negative feedback from the public.
It stands six feet high and is 38 feet wide.
Mayor Danny Breen says staff are still looking at the options.
“We decided at that time to put it into storage but we haven’t made any decisions on where and when the sign will be installed,” says Breen.
