Politicians debated the future fund, fiscal responsibility and binge-watching Ted Lasso in the House of Assembly yesterday.
Opposition Leader John Hogan continued to question Finance Minister Craig Pardy on amendments to the Future Fund.
Pardy couldn’t resist referencing the television show in his response.
Pardy says he remembers Hogan saying that he binge-watched Ted Lasso. “I remember it well” said Pardy slyly, “he said the moral and the theme of that was ‘be curious, not judgmental,’ I fear that he slipped into the judgmental big-time. As they would say in Terrenceville, ‘he slipped into judgmental bigly.'”
Pardy also referenced comments made by Hogan on the VOCM Morning Show yesterday.
“My question for the leader is, how did they not borrow for the Future Fund investment. Stand and answer that question” Pardy challenged, adding “we’re not judgmental, we’re curious.”
“I’m so pleased that the first thing that the Finance Minister does when he wakes up in the morning is have his coffee and listen to me on the radio” Hogan responded. “I’ll give you an answer how we did it, it’s in the Future Fund, it’s in the legislation and regulations that you’ve now tabled to get rid of.”
