The Chief of the Mushuau Innu First Nation is offering her support to Health Minister Lela Evans and her work and advocacy in addressing health issues on the north coast of Labrador.
Chief Patricia Andrew, who was responding to increased attention on the health challenges facing Labrador, has acknowledged Minister Evans’ role in bringing those issues forward.
Chief Andrew says she’s had the opportunity to meet with the minister and appreciates “her openness and willingness to listen.”
The chief says continued progress “should include all communities, and reflect the unique realities of remote and northern regions.”
She says the Mushuau Innu First Nation’s priority is to make sure the needs of their people “are clearly understood and that services address the day-to-day realities” her people face.
