The Seniors’ Advocate has released her 2025-26 report on the status of recommendations previously made by her office.
The office has made 54 formal recommendations stemming from four separate reports over the last seven years.
The greatest number of recommendations yet to be fully implemented – a total of 18 – fall under the Department of Seniors.
They include the development of Continuum of Care Legislation and regulations, something which outgoing Senior’s Advocate Susan Walsh previously indicated that government has “missed the boat” on.
The advocate’s office has also recommended the establishment of a financially resourced Provincial Caregivers Network to help ease the burden on caregivers – something that has yet to be implemented.
