The Canadian Federation of Independent Business is calling on the provincial government to direct new hydro revenue to help with health care, cost relief for small business and debt reduction.

New research released by the CFIB shows that small business owners in the province want new revenue flowing from a future hydro deal with Quebec to help ease the cost of doing business, while paying down the province’s debt.

The director of legislative affairs with the CFIB, Jonathan Galgay, says members were asked what the province should do with the revenue from a possible hydro agreement.

He says most surprising was the fact that one of the top answers from business owners across the province was dedicating more money for health care.
