Former premier – and a vocal opponent of the Churchill Falls MOU in its previous form – Danny Williams says he feels “tremendous satisfaction” that the review panel’s report “validated and verified” his concerns and those of other critics.
Williams says the report confirmed that the term of the MOU was too long and the price was not high enough, leaving the province in a “vulnerable position financially in the long-term.”
He says the report also confirmed that lack of access to transmission would “seriously impede” the province’s ability to see excess power.
