The collection of household bulk waste on the Burin Peninsula is being cancelled until further notice.
The Burin Peninsula Regional Service Board has gone to tender twice in the past six months or so seeking a contract which would allow it to provide the service at an affordable household rate, but no suitable bid has been received.
The board says it is working to find a solution, but residents are being asked to refrain from putting bulk waste at the curb for now.
