The minister of education says a steering committee will be in place in the very near future to help establish greater benefits for early childhood educators.
ECEs are seeking increased wages, a pension plan and increased sick days for the work they do.
Minister Paul Dinn says government remains committed to improving benefits for ECEs in the province, they just need to establish which priorities should be met first.
“They have listed their priorities, they haven’t listed them in order,” says Dinn. “I’ve reached out to them, we’ll have a steering committee in place in very…short order, and we will work together to ensure that the issues we address are in the order in which they want them addressed….and that’s what I commit to do.”
