Some 2,700 bags of garbage were collected from the shoulders of the Outer Ring Road on Sunday, down slightly from last year’s clean-up.
That equates to seven tandem loads of garbage including a full tandem load of metals.
Transportation Minister Barry Petten says while some items clearly fell from vehicles bound for Robin Hood Bay, others were a little harder to understand.
(He says one of the items was a full-sized sofa. He says he’s carried loads of garbage to the dump himself and wonders “when do you not know you lose a sofa?”)
