A 65-year-old man was arrested and charged after he barricaded himself inside a home in Newtown on the weekend.
RCMP in New-Wes-Valley arrived at a home on Main Street early Sunday morning as part of an ongoing investigation, but the man in question refused to leave the house while indicating that he had a gun.
Police secured the area, and a warrant was secured.
RCMP say Jefforey Batten surrendered to police without incident a short time later.
He was remanded to custody on one count of assault causing bodily harm, and two counts fo failing to comply with a release order.
The investigation continues.
