The federal finance minister believes a national energy grid is a “win-win-win” for Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec and Canada as a whole.
François-Phillippe Champagne was in the capital city yesterday for the Energy NL Conference.
He says Newfoundland and Labrador is perfectly positioned to play an essential role in a new energy grid. He cites the province’s proximity to Europe, our oil and gas potential and hydro development as key assets.
“You know that our grid has been more north-south, rather than east-west, and we need to change that.”
