Rainfall in the forecast is a welcome sight for residents of Labrador West after dealing with several wildfires over the last few days.
Waterbombers from this province, as well as a bird dog aircraft from New Brunswick, have spent the past few days battling a fire just outside Labrador City as well as several other fires outside Wabush.
An air quality warning has been issued by Environment Canada with area residents noticing ashes falling last evening.
There have been no further evacuations since Monday afternoon. The town of Lab City is asking for patience as they continue to assess conditions ahead of a potential return to the affected areas.
Showers are in the forecast for Lab West for the next couple of days.
