Harbour Grace residents are seeking answers following an escalation in criminal activity in the town that culminated with an attempted murder and home invasion in broad daylight last week.
Three people are facing charges in two separate events that police say are connected.
One resident told VOCM Open Line with guest host Darrin Bent that residents are fearful and fed up due to increased drug and criminal activity in the town.
“We have a house on Harvey Street and you can stand outside and watch the drug deals take place,” says the caller. “You can literally stand outside and see people pull up, they come out to the car, put it in through the window, and they drive off. 24/7.”
She says the provincial government campaigned on a public safety platform and she wants government officials to outline their plan to address public safety concerns and so-called trap houses.
