The provincial government is spending half a million dollars for new fire equipment for the west coast.

Government made the announcement yesterday in Pasadena, promising almost $450-thousand toward a new fire truck for Pasadena Fire Rescue.

Three other departments were also on the receiving end of new equipment, including departments in Steady Brook-Little Rapids, Bay St. George South, and St. George’s.

Officials say the move will strengthen fire protection services.
