The Nature Conservancy of Canada is reaching out to residents to become citizen scientists as part of the annual Big Backyard BioBlitz.
Residents throughout Newfoundland and Labrador are being invited to record plants, birds, insects, animals and other wildlife in and around their homes and neighbourhoods.
The information shared and gathered will help to track invasive species and monitor biodiversity.

Mark Frank of the Nature Conservancy of Canada says anyone can get involved.
He is inviting people to get outside and snap photos, and then register to submit.
The annual Big Backyard BioBlitz is now underway and wraps up on August 3.
