The provincial government wants to hear from residents to help develop a policy framework for supported decision-making.
The aim is to develop a policy to allow adults to make decisions with the help of someone they trust, rather than have someone else decide for them.
Newfoundland and Labrador currently does not have a law in place that formally allows for supported decision-making.
A new framework would help to create provincial legislation and policies to identify how to make supported decision-making an option for those who need it.
