Some occupants of Cochrane Pond Park have begun the process of vacating the area after removal notices were issued by the provincial government earlier this month.
The province issued the notices on July 6th and 7th, giving campers and property owners 30 days to clear out.
The province says any structures or items not removed in the next week or so will be subject to “further enforcement action.”
Under the Lands Act, structures illegally erected on Crown land must be removed, demolished or otherwise disposed of within 30 days of receiving written notice.
Occupants are also required to restore Crown land to a “satisfactory condition.”
