Two ATV riders are none-the-worse for their ordeal after getting lost on a backcountry trail on the province’s southwest coast.

The pair, a driver and their passenger, were on their way to Serpentine Lake when they got lost late Friday afternoon.

RCMP say they were able to provide police with their coordinates and a description of the general area.

The pair also indicated that they were well-prepared with food, water and other supplies.

Stephenville Ground Search and Rescue was called in and the pair were eventually found safe and sound.

They were escorted to safety and were able to resume their trip.

RCMP call the incident a good example of making sure you have the right gear packed and communication device on hand before heading into the backcountry.
