Angus Reid says Premier Tony Wakeham’s approval rating is second in the country after Manitoba’s Wab Kinew – and tied with Saskatchewan’s Scott Moe.
The number of respondents who approve of Wakeham’s performance to-date sits at 48 per cent, down just two points from June.
Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew remains Canada’s most popular premier with a 63 per cent approval rating.
Angus Reid admits the new Churchill Falls deal has not been without controversy and Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are split on Wakeham’s performance – with equal numbers in approval and disapproval.
The other signatory to the MOU is Quebec’s Christine Frechette – who is in the midst of an election campaign. Her approval rating remains unchanged at 39 per cent.
