Police have taken a person into custody following an incident that resulted a number of roads being closed to the public on Thursday afternoon.
RCMP descended on a neighbourhood following reports of shots fired in the area. Residents were asked to remain inside their homes for several hours as officers contained the incident.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m., police reported that a person was safely taken into custody.
Residents are allowed to leave their homes once more as RCMP say there is currently no threat to public safety.
UPDATE ⚠️🚨⚠️ RCMP responding to active incident in Deer Lake in area of Juniper St, Maple St, Willow Pl, Tulks Lane. Any public safety threat now contained in that area. Residents on these streets asked to remain inside, all others to avoid the area. Further updates to follow.
