While clear skies may not always be a reality in Newfoundland, weather-enthusiasts will now have a clearer picture of the skies as the Holyrood radar is officially back up and running.
The station was taken offline this summer as part of a countrywide project to replace or improve Canada’s existing radar network.
Yesterday, the brand new station which covers much of eastern Newfoundland went live for the public to view.
There are many improvements including a much larger effective range of coverage. It will also allow for clearer forecasts through difficult weather systems.
