The NDP member for Labrador West is applauding the mining industry for lobbying the provincial government to secure more localized training in the region.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today allowing more readily available training for those in the industry.
Previously, workers in the Labrador mining sector had to travel to the island to meet the needed qualifications.
Jordan Brown says the mining industry is a major economic driver in the province and the country.
