The town of Paradise approved a $37.2-million budget for 2021 last night.
There will be no tax increases for residents, with the residential and commercial mil rates staying at 7.2 and 11.5 respectively.
Following what has been one of the most trying economic times the world has ever seen, Mayor Dan Bobbett says it was important to keep the rates stable.
In fact, by keeping taxes the same, Bobbett notes about 80 per cent of residents will see a reduction in fees. He says it was important for the town to do that given the hardships this year has brought.
Other highlights from the budget include $900,000 for street rehabilitation, money for the first phase of water and sewer upgrades for Evergreen Village, and traffic calming measures for the three school zones within the town.
