A 25-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on the Bonavista Peninsula early this morning.
RCMP say it happened shortly before 2 a.m. on Route 235 in the community of King’s Cove.
Officers arrived on the scene to find a car upside down in a ditch.
Police say the victim was the only person in the vehicle and died at the scene after being thrown from the car. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
An RCMP collision expert and the chief medical examiner’s office are involved in the investigation which will determine what, if any role, alcohol played in the crash.
