A 31-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court today on a long list of charges following a dramatic arrest in the capital city yesterday.
The accused (Gavin Baker) is facing two counts of robbery, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime, assault with a weapon, flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, court order breaches and Highway Traffic Act offences.
The suspect was identified as part of the RNC’s investigation into two recent armed robberies in CBS. Police located the accused driving a vehicle in the metro area yesterday afternoon and attempted to pull the car over.
RNC say the car would not pull over for police, instead colliding with two police vehicles before speeding away.
The suspect was located a short time later in the area of Bell’s Turn where he was arrested.
The accused was held pending a court appearance scheduled for today.

The RNC arrested the accused in connection with a pair of recent armed robberies in Conception Bay South.
One incident occurred early Wednesday morning at a service station on the CBS Highway, while the other occurred late Wednesday afternoon. The suspect made off with cash in both incidents.
Police were able to identify the man who was located today driving a car in the metro region. The car would not pull over for the RNC and instead collided with two police vehicles before speeding away.
Police say the suspect was located a short time later in the area of Bell’s Turn where he was arrested.
