The COVID briefings will continue through the election period, although there will be some changes to the format and schedule.

Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald will provide a once-weekly live update, with daily news releases on COVID cases in the province.

She indicates it will be status quo when it comes to pandemic response.

Clinical decisions based on public health evidence will still be made, and the roll-out of the vaccine will continue.

The briefings and the involvement of ministers in those briefings could change if required – for instance, if the number of cases suddenly spikes.
