The building that houses two popular restaurants in downtown St. John’s has been put up for sale, yet another casualty of COVID-19 and a battered business landscape.
Harbour Walk Hospitality Group, which leases space to The Keg and Jack Astors, put the property on the market in the fall after shareholders baulked at further investment.
Rick Rogers, a Toronto-based director with Harbour Walk Hospitality, says rumours that the restaurants are closing appear to be just that—rumours.
He says to the best of his knowledge both The Keg and Jack Astors are doing reasonably well, given the current economic climate.
Rogers’ company only acquired the property in September of 2019. He says they would be open to discussing any and all arrangements with potential buyers or partners.
