Two families, including seven children, have been left homeless after fire destroyed an apartment complex in Grand Bank on Wednesday night.
No injuries were reported in the blaze that broke out around 10:30.
Unable to save the structure, firefighters focused on keeping the flames from spreading to nearby buildings.
The Grand Bank Volunteer Fire Department was back on the scene today, knocking down hot spots and pulling down what’s left of the two-unit complex.
Fire Chief Tony Snook says his brigade was aided by the Fortune Fire Department in extinguishing the blaze, establishing a water wall between the building and a nearby home to protect it from flankers from the fire.
Damage to other buildings was mostly limited to vinyl siding that melted from the heat.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
