The Canadian Red Cross says there were no injuries in a fire that destroyed a home in Paradise early this morning.
Neighbours reported hearing an explosion at about 5:00 this morning. Next thing they knew, a house was fully engulfed in flames.
When firefighters from St. John’s Regional arrived, the house, located on Tranquil Place, was already collapsing in on itself.
Platoon Chief, AJ St. Croix says two rescues, and water supply units were also brought to the scene. He says they were able to quickly knock down what was left of the home, and crews worked to contain the scene.
There was no damage to other homes in the area.
