Another round of heat warnings has been issued across the island with high temperatures and humidity expected over the next two days.
Most of the island—Corner Brook-Buchans-Bonavista-Lewisporte-Baie Verte—is under heat warnings with temperatures near 30 degrees expected today and tomorrow, while the humidex will push near 36 to 37. Southern Labrador is also under a similar warning.
There will be little relief overnight, with temperatures between 16 to 20 degrees.
Similar temperatures are expected today in St. John’s-Metro, with a high of 28 and a humidex of 34.
Environment Canada says cooler conditions are expected along parts of the coast but is advising residents to plan ahead for the heat. That includes scheduling outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day and monitoring for symptoms of heat-related illness.
