A man from Port aux Basques has been arrested after somebody called police about an erratic driver on the Trans-Canada Highway.

RCMP, who pulled the 34-year-old over near Edna’s Road, say the driver showed signs of impairment. In fact, he blew three times the legal limit. The driver, who was charged accordingly, was released to appear later.

A similar situation unfolded outside Stephenville after police stopped a vehicle. The 20-year-old woman who was driving had open alcohol in the vehicle and showed signs of impairment. Her breath sample came back twice the legal limit.
