The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary removed three impaired drivers from roadways in the metro region early Saturday morning.
Around 12:30 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Pitts Memorial Drive near Mount Pearl. An 81-year-old driver failed the breathalyzer test and was handed a seven-day driving suspension. The man’s vehicle was impounded.
Then shortly after 2 a.m., officers made another traffic stop in the same area of Pitts Memorial Drive. A 30-year-old driver also failed the breathalyzer test. He was also suspended from driving for seven days, and his vehicle was seized.
Police received a report of an impaired driver in the area of Majors Path in St. John’s around 2:30 a.m. Police pulled over the suspected impaired driver. The 41-year-old woman was charged with refusal, her vehicle was impounded, and she is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
