Registration is now open for the provincial government’s annual Becoming an Outdoors Woman program.
The popular event, which was introduced back in 1997, teaches women a variety of outdoor skills.
The three-day event runs from Friday October 1st to Sunday the 3rd at the Lion’s Max Simms Camp in Bishop’s Falls.
Minister of Fishery and Forest Resources, Derrick Bragg says it’s a great opportunity to learn a variety of skills.
He says most people think it’s all about moose hunting, but they also teach participants things like archery, photography, camping, rifle basics, identification of plants and there’s even a mushroom hike among other things.
Registration is $275 dollars which includes accommodations, meals, and course materials.
