A meeting is taking place at Memorial United Church in Portugal Cove this evening to deal with an ongoing “battle” with Canada Post, which has set up a community mail box in front of their cemetery on Bauline Line Extension.
Church spokesperson Charles Harris says the area has minimal parking, and Canada Post has taken over 44 feet of parking space from the area.
He told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly that causes a significant problem for mourners, parishioners, and those who want to visit the cemetery site.
Harris says they asked numerous times that Canada Post reconsider the location of the mail boxes, but to no avail.
The meeting is set for this evening at 7:00 to determine their next course of action.
