The NDP are calling on government to announce their plan for a just transition away from oil and gas.

Interim Leader Jim Dinn expressed his disappointment in the premier referring to a just transition as a “buzzword”

Dinn calls it another case of how the provincial government are going against global trends and increasing oil and gas exploration in the province,

He says all they have seen is Premier Furey talk about “clean oil”, which Dinn calls a buzzword.

He says the 27 active oil and gas exploration licenses in the province show that the government need to stop “peddling oil”, when workers are worried about their future in an oil-free economy.
