A 27-year-old man in St. John’s is facing a list of charges after the RNC were called to a report of intimate partner violence over the weekend.
At about 8 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to a home in the capital city’s downtown.
A man and woman were located inside the home, police noticed that the woman had sustained visible injuries.
It was determined that the man was carrying a concealed weapon while communicating with police.
The RNC’s Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Services were engaged to help with the investigation.
As a result the man is facing a raft of charges. Those are assault, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, choking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and resisting arrest.
He was held in custody to appear in provincial court.
