There was an armed robbery at a bank in the heart of the capital city yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 1:50 p.m. police arrived on-scene, but the assailant had already fled.

A short time later, the RNC was able to apprehend a 34-year-old suspect with the help of the K-9 Unit.

There were no injuries in the ordeal.

The man was charged with robbery, possession of an imitation firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and several breaches of court orders.

The man is due to appear in court today.
