The Opposition are once again calling on government for immediate action in dealing with issues in the healthcare system.
Shadow Minister of Health Paul Dinn says the Health Sciences Centre and St. Clare’s emergency rooms are often in “Code 111” or “Code Red” scenarios.
Dinn says patients can be waiting up to 31 hours for a hospital bed, staff are critically short, and there is an “unprecedented” number of people using the emergency room.
He says while the Health Accord will lay out a plan for health care moving forward, action is required immediately.
