A film school is coming to Newfoundland and Labrador.
College of the North Atlantic, alongside the provincial government and industry partners, announced today the opening of the new Film and Media Production Centre on Strawberry Marsh Road in St. John’s.
The new centre, set to open in January 2023, will house five new programs related to all aspects of the film industry. Enrolment will be open for the Fall 2022 semester.

CNA President Liz Kidd says the building will need a little time to be renovated.
She says they don’t want to rush the building, as they want a state of the art facility. She says their industry partners are willing to help them out.
Along with the campus, which government set aside $10-million for in the recent budget, they are also providing a 30 per cent tax credit to help attract more productions to the province.
