The Nature Conservancy of Canada is making progress towards its $3 million fundraising goal to “Keep the Rock Rugged.”
The fundraiser was launched to help foster conservation in the province.
Nature Conservancy spokesperson Andrew Holland provided an Earth Day update on VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly.
He says they’ve raised over $1 million already and are hoping to raise more which will be matched with federal government funding. Holland says the money will help to expand nature reserves like the Salmonier Nature Reserve and the Grand Codroy Estuary and will double the number of youth internships in the province.
Cenovus recently donated $3 million US to the Nature Conservancy of Canada as part of the company’s social investment strategy.
