A local drag queen is set to appear on a popular television show.
Irma Gerd of St. John’s, also known as the “Beast from the East”, will appear on the third season of Canada’s Drag Race.

Gerd will compete in the reality show against 11 other queens for a chance at winning $100,000 and the title of Canada’s Next Drag Superstar.
The season premieres July 14 at 10:30 p.m. Newfoundland time.
