First responders who attended the scene of a horrific fatal crash on the Trans-Canada Highway this week say they’re holding their own.
Wednesday evening’s head-on collision involving two heavily-loaded tractor trailers claimed the lives of the two drivers, and caused a fire that consumed both vehicles.
Both the Grand Falls-Windsor and Bishop’s Falls fire departments responded to the scene.
Bishop’s Falls Fire Chief Gary Harnum says his members have access to supports if needed.
He says they have teams in place in all the local fire departments which members have access to if needed. In their own fire department, they have two chaplains who are available to help.
