The Mountain View Retirement Centre in Corner Brook is hosting a special Carnival today for residents and their families, the first such gathering since the beginning of the pandemic.
Games, a nachos bar, popcorn, cotton candy, and a photo booth are among the attractions planned this afternoon.
A spokesperson for the centre says residents tell staff they are pleased to be participating in events to celebrate Come Home Year without having to expose themselves to the greater population at large with COVID continuing to spread in the community.
The carnival gets underway this afternoon at 2:30 and will run until around 4:00 p.m.
