The Minister of Health says while discussions are ongoing, no decision has been made on if the province will allow nurse practitioners to operate clinics in the public system.
The Registered Nurses’ Union has been advocating for nurse practitioners to open clinics under the public system at no cost to the patient for some time.
Health Minister Tom Osborne however, says no decision has been made on the issue.
He says while it is a topic of active discussion, the province is not in a position to say if it will happen or won’t happen.
