The RNC say human remains discovered in a wooded area off Three Island Pond Road in Paradise have been identified as belonging to 33-year-old Trevor “Pepsi” Hamlyn.
Hamlyn was last seen at his Imogene Crescent home in Paradise on June 16, 2018. He was preparing for a gathering with friends later that evening, but disappeared without a trace.
From the start family members knew something was amiss and formed a Facebook page to gather whatever information might be available to point them, and investigators in the right direction.
RNC Constable James Cadigan today confirmed that Hamlyn’s remains were located on top of the ground by a man walking his dog in the area Monday morning.
The site, while somewhat secluded, is only a ten-minute drive from where Hamlyn was last seen.
Cadigan says a cause of death has not yet been determined. He says the remains were skeletal and the expertise of an anthropologist and archaeologist has been sought to try to determine a possible cause of death.
The RNC is asking anyone with information to contact them at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. File # 2018-33592.

Trevor Hamlyn’s sister Ashley posted to the Help find Trevor Hamlyn group soon after the news was confirmed.
She says after four long years, the family finally has the closure it needs.
Ashley says they have no details about how Trevor died, but she says “for now that is ok” as they finally get to put him to rest and “get to say goodbye the proper way.”
Hamlyn will be laid to rest alongside his father in Grand Falls-Windsor. The family is accepting donations to cover the funeral costs. Donations exceeding the cost of the funeral will be donated to the Rovers Ground Search and Rescue.
On behalf of the family, she offered her thanks to anyone who shared, commented or followed their Facebook group, and to the many family and friends who have been by their sides throughout the ordeal.
