Canada Day is just one week away, and the City of St. John’s is outlining the series of events taking place to mark the occasion.
The day will begin with a sunrise ceremony on Signal Hill at 6 a.m. A wheelchair accessible shuttle will be available to take people from the visitor centre up to Cabot Tower.
Then, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. there will be family friendly games and events taking place at King George V Park. If the weather is bad, that event will be moved inside to the nearby Techniplex.
At 8:00 p.m. there will be a live concert at the Quidi Vidi bandstand, while the fireworks display will happen at 10:00 at Quidi Vidi Lake. In case of inclement weather, the fireworks will be moved to the next day at the same time.
All events are accessible and free to attend.
