Government is giving over $180,000 to the Conservation Corps as part of their regular funding.
Minister Bernard Davis announced $187,000 to the organization, one that has been a long-time partner of the province.
The organization educates young people on climate change and provides local employment opportunities.
Director of Programs, Megan Stuckless, says it’s important to engage young people on the topic of climate change.
She says they operate under the idea that unless you see the impacts in your backyard, it is not real to you. She says their programming is driven by that philosophy.
